The Declaration of Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions (CC&Rs) of the Highlands Subdivision Homeowners Association requires that the homeowner request approval from the Board of Directors prior to doing any exterior modifications and/or additions to your home or property.
The review process ensures that property values are maintained and the character of the neighborhood is preserved. Some examples of modifications needing approval are:
- Room Additions
- Decks and fences
- Changes of exterior colors of your home
- Sheds
- Playground Equipment
- Basketball goals
- Satellite dishes
- Major landscaping
- Etc.
Please remember that homeowners are required to submit a plat map with a drawing of where the architecture will be placed with respect to boundary lines, easements, etc. To obtain a plat map, please visit the link below.

Tip: If you do not have a way to scan your completed Architecture From don’t worry! There is an app called Genius Scan that allows you to take a picture of the completed form with your smart phone and converts the picture to a PDF document. Then you can email the document to the address on the form. The app is available for both iOS and Android.
